Lent is the traditional Christian season leading up to the celebration of Christ’s resurrection on Easter morning. It is a time of contemplation, repentance, and earnest prayer.
First Christian Church of Decatur’s Lent theme for 2025 is “Traveling the Ways of Christ”. This year, we are prayerfully and purposefully embarking down a path of our own discernment as we look to the future to see where God will lead us in the next chapter of our story. As we walk our own road, we will take this season to explore some of the roads that Jesus walked and what lessons they hold for us.
Join us as we traverse the roads to the wilderness, Nazareth, Capernaum, Samaria, Jericho, Jerusalem, Calvary, and ultimately the empty tomb. We look forward to walking with Jesus and with you as the future unfolds before us.

Wednesday, March 5th – 7:00 PM – Ash Wednesday. Joint Worship Service with Gentle Spirit Christian Church
Sunday, March 9th – 10:25 AM – First Sunday of Lent.
Sunday, March 16th – 10:25 AM – Second Sunday of Lent.
Sunday, March 23rd – 10:25 AM – Third Sunday of Lent.
Sunday, March 30th – 10:25 AM – Fourth Sunday of Lent.
Sunday, April 6th – 10:25 AM – Fifth Sunday of Lent.
Sunday, April 13th – 10:25 AM – Palm Sunday.
Thursday, April 17th – 7:00 PM – Maundy Thursday.
Friday, April 18th – 7:00 PM – Good Friday. Worship on the lawn with Gentle Spirit Christian Church.
Sunday, April 20th – 10:00 AM – Easter Egg Hunt on the church lawn.
Sunday, April 20th – 10:25 AM – Easter Morning Worship.
